Achievements of the Widow of Shaheed Nanak Singh, Sardarni Habans Kaur and Her Service to the Country

1931 - Shaheed Nanak Singh With His Wife,
Sardarni Harbans Kaur On The Day Of Their Wedding.

 

 

1999 - This Picture Was Taken Shortly Before Sardarni Harbans Kaur Passed Away At The Age of 87 After Raising Her 8 Children and 19 Grandchildren.

Born In Village Khokerki, Gujrawala District (Now in Pakistan) On The 15th March 1915. 

After the tragic death of her husband, Sardarni Harbans Kaur moved to Patiala where she worked as an outstanding teacher and was recognised by the Government of Punjab.

Sardarni Harbans Kaur was presented an award by the State for her commendable services as a community teacher.

5 of her 7 sons were in the Indian Army, defending their motherland. This great achievement was recognised by the tribune newspaper and she was declared the 'Proudest Punjabi Mother', she was also presented with the War Jagir by the Government of India in recognition of her supreme sacrifice in 1962 emergency.
